When God Speaks

When God Speaks
Kevin Moore Music

Dear family and friends,

I wanted my next song — #11, When God Speaks — to be another upbeat, joyful song sung in that AI‑soul‑brother voice you heard on Make a Joyful Noise. Before bed I prayed for the right topic. When I awoke in the middle of the night, the Book of Job came to mind — specifically the 70 questions God asks Job in chapters 38–41. It had been a while since I studied that section, so I went back and dug in.

The song turned out very well. The words, melody, and delivery could stand alone, but the real magic — the real blessing — is how the Holy Spirit helped me use AI to condense pages and pages of biblical material into a joyful 3:24‑minute song.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read the summary below. I promise the lyrics will make far more sense, and I believe this background will be a blessing to you. This song is coming at a perfect time for me and all my weary fellow caregivers.

Summary of the Summary

God’s 70 questions confront Job with one truth: “You are not the Maker — you are the made.”

The emotional truth is this: God’s greatness is the caregiver’s comfort. God’s sovereignty is the caregiver’s sanity. God’s presence is the caregiver’s joy.

It’s God saying: “Look at Me — and you’ll find your joy again.”

Here’s how the whole section can be compressed into a few lines. With this information, the listener will have a better appreciation of the lyrics:

  • He laid the foundations — “He hung the earth on nothing.”

  • He commands the morning — “He calls the dawn by name.”

  • He tames the wild — “Every creature answers His voice.”

  • He rules the chaos — “Even the deep bows to Him.”

  • He holds justice — “His hand is never late.”

Five lines. Five images. Five horn hits. Five reasons to praise.

Count it all as joy,

Kevin Moore

WHEN GOD SPEAKS

By Kevin C. Moore (September 3, 2026)

VERSE 1

Some days the road is heavy, and the nights don’t let me rest; I’m holding on to hope when my strength feels pressed. The questions crowd around me, and the tears don’t always hide— But even in the shadows, Lord, You’re right here by my side.

CHORUS

You hung the world on nothing — and it still stands strong; You call the dawn to rise — and the darkness is gone. Every storm, every sea, every wild thing knows Your voice; So I lift my hands in praise — when God speaks, I rejoice.

VERSE 2

You spoke and set the foundations — every corner, every crest; You call the morning forward, and creation answers, “Yes.” The oceans keep Your boundaries, and the wild ones hear Your call— When Your voice breaks through my darkness, I remember You hold all.

BRIDGE

When God speaks, the storm stands still; When God speaks, my heart is filled. When God speaks, the shadows break— Every fear must bow to the power He makes.

FINAL CHORUS

You hung the world on nothing — and it still stands strong; You call the dawn to rise — and the darkness is gone. Every storm, every sea, every wild thing knows Your voice; So, I lift my hands in praise — when God speaks, I rejoice.
